The Hate U Give (thug) by Angie Thomas

“What’s the point oh having a voice if you’re gonna be silent in those moments you shouldn’t be?”

This book is about a sixteen-year-old-girl,Starr who witnessed two murders in her life. It addresses what needs to be said–less privileged people are treated unfairly and people should voice up so that justice would be served! This book sends an important message and has opened my eyes to one of the biggest issues the world is facing right now, racism-prejudice. In this book, Khalil (the protagonist’s friend) is shot to death for doing nothing wrong.

“I’ve seen it happen over and over again: a black person gets killed just for being black, and all hell breaks loose. I’ve Tweeted RIP hashtags, reblogged pictures on Tumblr, and signed every petition out there. I always said that if I saw it happen to somebody, I would have the loudest voice, making sure the world knew what went down.
Now I am that person, and I’m too afraid to speak.”
Angie Thomas, The Hate U Give .

this book gives you all the the feels, happiness, sadness, anger and family love…The relationship between this family is just…AWWW

About me

yo whatsup? I’m writing this because I’m really bored so I decided to try ‘blogging’. I’m A lifeless teenage girl who lives somewhere in Malaysia(google it). I’m a Malaysian Chinese who likes reading and binge watch tv series all the time(told you I’m lifeless). i read mostly english books of all genres(well, mostly). So, feel free to recommend your favourites. And, I find korean dramas kinda cringey. I’m an introvert who avoids human interaction as often as possible (except for a few close friends). I love internet memes and sometimes make memes out of my friend’s expressions. (i sound like I’m writing an essay AHAHAHA)

do you sometimes read a quote and its soo relatable you have goosebumps?

favourite quotes from books i read :

  1. “The words were on their way, and when they arrived, she would hold them in her hands like clouds, and she would ring them out like the rain.” -Markus Zusak, The Book Thief
  2. “No one knows for certain how much impact they have on the lives of other people.” -Thirteen Reasons Why, Jay Asher
  3. “Good or bad, right or wrong, there was always so much more.”  -Just listen, Sarah Dessen
  4. “If only we could see the endless string of consequences that result from our smallest actions.” -Looking for Alaska, John Green

Maybe I’ll do ‘quotes i found from the internet’ next time if there are actually people out there reading my blog.
